Message: I was wondering if someone who's been through the Stanford or Columbia admissions could give me some advice. Although I am American, I currently work in the UK as a computer consultant with a management consulting firm. I was an engineering major and graduated from an excellent school--though not ivy league--with a 3.6 GPA. My GMAT's were pretty good: I got a 750. Though I would like to think that I have a pretty decent chance of getting into at least of one of these schools, I feel that I suffer from a diversity standpoint; I didn't climb Mt. Everest; I didn't ski in the Olympics; and I haven't commanded a military combat unit in Dessert Storm. Does anybody know what my chances are? Or, even better, can you give me some tips to help me get in?
