In Reply To: Your School stinks. It is a joke. You may think that it is a top ten school , but all it does is benefit from location, location, location. Pick up your brochure and read again if you doubt that. Why else did your school put me on a waiting list. Me ??? Who got in Harvard , Wharton and Stanford, Kellogg etc etc etc. Well they knew I would never go there because I was good. Well enjoy your location , caues it is the only great part of the experience. The school is only above average. When you have done working for the Street, come and work for me. HBS - Class of 2000.
Message: 1. It is doubtful that you are at HBS, or any other top business school for that matter. Your behaviour is exceedingly juvenile. 2. HBS is the best general management school, and enjoys the best overall reputation in terms of both the business school and the general university. However, that doesn't mean it's the best for everything. Wharton and Chicago are both better for finance. Kellogg is better for marketing. MIT-Sloan is better for IT and quantitative analysism, not to mention having more top-quality econcomic and business research occurring there. The only school not better at anything than Harvard is Stanford, which at least rules its entire US coast. HBS is a "soft" school that is too case-driven but produces highly employable people by attracting top candidates in the first place. The overall makeup of the class is just about the same as other top programs (though with a lower GMAT average than Stanford or MIT, but what do you expect, it's Harvard vs. MIT/Stanford).
