I am always reading about 6-figure salaries and 3-4 job offers for top ten MBA grads. How much of this is a result of the experience these grads bring to school? I work for the SEC and have the scores, volunteer work, etc. needed to get into a top ten school but I don't know if it's worth the investment. Do consulting firms or i-banks hire grads without the standard background, especially governemnt/regulatory? Any advice would be appreciated. |

My experience - got an MBA, only used 10% of what I've learned, immidiately went into the six figures in real (non-stock option) compensation, in Washington, D.C.
I think new MBA's may be temporarily in trouble. If you're not one of them, now is a good time to get one so you'll be done and ready when the economy recovers...
