In Reply To: I'm a '98 Columbia grad, and I found it overall to be a pretty decent place to be. I did NOT find it to be competitive -- the vast majority of people in my year were very collegial -- sharing outlines, forming study groups, etc. The administration and various student groups sponsor numerous food and wine grazings -- you definitely won't go hungry or thirsty. You may run into one or two people who are crabby because they didn't get into Harvard or Yale, but I think they settle down for the most part after they discover that, except for perhaps the Supreme Court clerkships, they've sacrificed very little in terms of future prospects. And, though it will never be a Greenwich Village, Morningside Heights is becoming a pretty good for restaurants, bars, and other entertainment.
Message: Well, Ron Jeremy (I didn't know porn stars went to Law School), I stand corrected on the account of Columbia being a torture chamber.
