In Reply To: bob_d - not everyone can afford to go to law school right out of college. not everyone can get into the top-14. try not to be an a$$hole, ok. this person is looking for advice, not discouragement. you have some issues, pal.
Message: And you sound like a college student who needs to grow up. Do you know what it's like to come out of a graduate program for 3 or 4 years of your life owing 60-80-100K+ in NON-DISCHARGABLE student loans? I do. This ain't chump change and it doesn't go away. Now, that situation with a low-paying 30-40K/yr job or NO JOB or prospects? I do. And so does Bob. It isn't pretty. What Bob says, and I also say isn't "discouragement". It's the truth. The naked truth. Law schools don't care what happens after graduation. They have the money. The student has massive debt. Law schools have willingly fucked up many, many peoples' lives by propogating the lie that law school degree = BIGLAW = $$$$. This is true for a VERY SMALL prcentage of graduates. Bob-d and I do not make the rules. The legal market does. Look in your local phone book (yellow pages). How come so many attorneys are listed? Why aren't they at BIGLAW. Supply and demand. I suggest you grow up, take your head out of your ass, and understand that the world is full of con artists. This includes, unfortunately, our educational institutions. People don't care about people. They only care when you have the money.
