So Tweetie,
Its worth it, if you choose it and you want it.
So, Why did you go to law school? Huh? Were you not told that associates in big law firms work lots of hours? Are you partner material? If that's what you want then you know the score, hours hours hours. If not, pay off your loans and look to get a better lifestyle in-house or at a boutique ASAP. Better not get used to the big salary.
Is it hours or the work required? This is your choice pal and you were fully informed, so why do you look in the mirror and not take it out on the people in town trying to make it only 1/5 your salary. |

Gurdanark, perturbation_theory, and other seasoned veterans,
What is a good plan for doing biglaw and then going in house or to a smaller firm? That is exactly what I have in mind. Doing like 4-5 years in Biglaw and then moving out for decent hours and a paycut. I plan and expect to put in long hours gaining skills and a reputation in Biglaw, but then I hope to have the time and decent enough income to raise a family. Does that plan make sense?
Can you go straight from law school to in house or to a smaller firm and make enough to live comfortably and pay off your law school loans?
Thanks.
