Message: An acquaintance of mine back at my old job in Jersey had an uncle who was a senior VP at JP Morgan (pre-merger). All the staff at his level were sweating bullets, waiting for the merger. My friend said that if you were 35 - even 30 in most cases - or over, getting a job at JPM was nigh impossible. Screw credentials. Screw experience. Tough luck. So sorry. As far as Asians, I find the whole discussion rather bs. Why? I am a white male, but I was born with CP - a physical disability. Does this affect a person? You bet. It affects you in social interaction, which affects you mentally. Once that happens, school work is affected, etc. Everything in life becomes "harder". Why? Because life is social interaction. And that interaction is colored by the stigma of the disability. Unfortunately, people aren't as non-discriminating as dogs or computers... I have NEVER benefited from AA in ANY way. Why should otherwise healthy Asians or blacks, or any other ethnic group be given special treatment. How is being Asian a disadvantage? Or a woman? Answer: IT'S NOT. It's PC bullshit. I am - and always have been - a minority. But as a white male and a member of a minority group that largely has no voice, I do not benefit from AA. Try living with a physical disability for 31+ years and see if you do as well in life as I have....continually shit on as I am. Take the Asian/black/female crap and shove it. Nonsense.
