NYC hot shot is exactly right. The substantive work is easier to understand as far as terminology etc., but you have no time to crack open a book until getting ready for exams. You basically will go into exams feeling unprepared, since you have been extremely busy the entire semester. |

I don't think that it ALL sucks - the experience 2nd year is just very different. You spend the majority of the fall semester interviewing and by the spring semester, you are ready for an extended spring break. I do think that it has a lot to do with where you go to school.
My strongest recommendation is to take classes that you are REALLY interested in - subjects that are intuitive. I found that it was much easier to force myself to sit down and prepare for classes that I found interesting.
Just remember to take it in stride. 1st year is hell and we all went through what you are feeling now - happily, we have lived through it. I have friends that are getting their MBA and I have decided to adopt their more "take it in stride" attitude (stressing doesn't not make the task at hand any easier).
