How does the timing of the bar exam work?
If I remember correctly from some of the reading I've done it can only be taken after graduation. Can it be taken right away? Does one have to wait a few months until the scheduled exam date? What would one do in the meantime? I assume you don't go unemployed.
I'm an ME in the Detroit area, thinking about law school. With the engineering background, I was considering patent law. How does the timing of the patent bar exam fit in? I know the big need is for EE and BioMed types, is there any need for MechE's? |

You'd be better off working at the Patent and Trademark Office and planning on going t Law school at night in DC or VA (plan on your own funds). PTO experience is at least helpful in most backgrounds, but probably closer to necessary in Mechanical.
