LLM in Tax |

I've been practicing corporate and international law in the midwest for a few years and am gaining more exposure to tax law, especially international transactions tax. Essentially, the subject fascinates me ... perverse as that sounds.
For my own edification and to broaden my long-term professional prospects, I am considering taking a year off for an LLM program in tax. I've heard that NYU has a great LLM program, so I looking for the "voice of experience" from NYU alums.
As I would have to take a year off from full time work and borrow a good portion of the tuition and costs, about a $150,000+ hit, would this program be worth my while? Are there other programs that might also be worth considering?
Thanks.
