I'm about to graduate from college and I really want to paralegal or be a legal assistant before going off to law school, but it seems that legal recruiting doesn't take the same route as say the recruiters for the banking and consulting industries. Should I just pester the human resources department? Can anyone who does have a legal assistant job please help me out and give me some pointers. What should I say and how should I approach them? Any help would be much appreciated..thanks |

I think it's been said but it's key--you need to show a commitment of time, be it one year or two years. Employers want to know that you're going to stay there for a while. The most important thing for them aside from that is your grades. If you are bright you shouldn't have any trouble finding a job in a big city. 3 ways to go about it. 1. your college career office. 2. local headhunters/recuiters. 3. calling the firms directly. Good luck!
