Are you kidding? Anyone who would choose SKadden over DPW is a glutten for punishment. Skadden associates are miserable. And DPW associates, with or without bonuses, enjoy their jobs, enjoy their lives, enjoy the work, and enjoy their colleagues.
If you want to be miserable, then choose Skadden. It's certainly prestigious, no doubt about it. And you may very well get a fat bonus. But your happiness is at risk. |

My roomate works at Skadden and he has a life. Unlike DPW, he has his own office, great support, and has never been told to keep his expenses down (apparently DPW checks on every receipt you charge against the firm). The guy is happy, has a girlfriend whom he sees often, and is chased after recruiters even in these bad times.
Come on, something has to give. Skadden doesn't deserve the image you have. It pays well (better than DPW with its base alone); it's equally prestigious (well, not quite if you look at the Vault survey, but this may change next year); and you get your own office (at DPW, you have to share an office for three years!!!). 1
