In Reply To: ""And I assure you that people who can become physicians have anough charisma and political savvy to move to the top, wherever they are:)"" I think you have confused your world with General Hospital. I suppose you are a fine example of charisma and political savy. Sorry but arrogance and naivete aren't one of the 7 Habits of Highly Successfull People. You guys are essentially nerds, rich nerds but nerds. It's why you became doctors because you lack the social graces and organizational skills to succeed in business. Outside of medicine, you aren't rewarded for talking down to someone, showing up late and providing incomplete services. However, if business and law people entered medicine, your appointment book would be slashed. Not only would we be more efficient with our collection methods. We could structure our office efficiency to actually be on time for our patients. Finally, we can relate to our patients. We didn't spend most of our time in a lab or a book. It's called TQM (total quality management) something physicians are totally devoid of. If you practiced medicine with this approach, many of you would actually earn more money. While effective communication and organization skills may seen inherent in us, it's obvious physicians lack them. That's why the latest physician buzz words are "bed-side manner" and "business side of medicine." It's funny how these words are a new concept to doctors.
