Duke, (as you may know) has an awesome reputation nationwide. Almost every BIGLAW firm, East or West, recruits there. In terms of on-campus recruiting, I have checked a lot (I had these two schools on my list, two) and found that Duke has more firms (and a larger geographical mix of firms) recruiting on-campus.
Also, everyone who goes to Duke says how much they love it. The alumni are many and very, very loyal. While this shouldn't necessarily sway you, it does seem to reflect well on the experience people have there.
Bob_d is hung up on the Ivy League. Penn is an Ivy League school, but there are drawbacks that go with the Ivy League (like Ivy League it's-your-priviledge-to-go-here attitudes that really suck. I know, I am going to an Ivy in the fall and have already experienced it!).
It has nice weather, too (70 degrees in January).
So if you want to have lots of options geographically, nice weather, and a degree with prestige that will travel wherever you need it, I'd think seriously about Duke. |

But if you go to Penn, there are lots of cheesesteaks and hoagies to eat. All they serve in NC (or wherever Duke is) is gritz.
