Since money isn't an issue, Penn is the clear choice. Penn is Ivy League, and Michigan is a state school.
Law school-wise they are ranked the same. But in EVERY OTHER academic area, Penn beats Michigan. This is an anomaly... over time Penn's law school will rise towards Penn's overall reputation, and Michigan law will sink towards Michigan's overall reputation.
Furthermore, as a state school, Michigan's future is always at the whim of the Michigan state legislature. They could at any time do something to sink Michigan's reputation. |

bob, now i know you went to penn for school. in every post where someone asks: "Penn or X school" you always respond "Penn." at first i thought maybe that was just your objective opinion, but now i think you're pretty much wacko. sorry, buddy, what is your obsession with penn? great school, but again, who cares that it's "ivy"? if we're focusing on ivy, remember it's pretty much the bottom of the "ivy steps"--concentrate on something real for once! seriously, what is your deal?? "michigan's future is always at the whim of the Michigan state legislature." ?? what planet are you on? michigan is a fantastic school, and btw--"law school-wise" they are NOT ranked the same. michigan is ranked in u.s. news at #7, penn at #11... if that's the "same" in your book, your math skills need some brushing up. penn students are happy, but my vote goes to michigan (unless you're just tired of being in the same place). more prestige, better placement. good luck!
