Message: i haven't read the book you're talking about, but i did read 1L by scott turow - dated, but still scary as hell. i think success in law school all depends on your aspirations. if you want to be a judge or an academic or just want to make law review, you really have to be prepared to work your ass off. the difference required in effort between getting an A- and an A is huge, and getting that A- isn't exactly easy either. don't stress so much. get study guides at the beginning of the year - the emanuel's series is pretty good - and read them along with your casebooks to help you figure things out. also examples and explanations, particularly civil procedure by john glannon, is a good series. above all, just be prepared. do your work every night, go to class, and start studying for finals no later than thanksgiving, and you'll be fine. don't panic or be overly stressed, though - it'll only hurt you in the long run. good luck.
