I have to say this message board panics me. I am applying to law school for next year. I gave up a great paying consulting job that basically I thought was a load of pandering bull to slave as a paralegal for a year and go into debt for something I really believe in. But all I hear is how being a lawyer sucks, how lawyers suck. I'm sick of it. Surely there are people who really love their work as a lawyer without necessarily having to work for the gov? I hope so because though I am really excited to go to law school, when I read this I wonder what the hell I am doing. |

Maybe the grass is greener, but all other things being equal, it's always better to be making money than not to be making money.

Then don't just take our word for it. Talk to real people who are lawyers in a setting other than this message board.
And if you HAVEN'T talked to a good sample of people who have graduated law school, then you haven't done enough research at all to merit quitting a good consulting job.
