I must have hit a nerve. You must be from either one of those two cities which can't decide on urban sprawl or gentrification; which can't finish a construction project in under five years; which can't fill a pot hole on it's major streets; where you waste three hours of your day in traffic; I should stop here for fear of being prolix.
They said Vegas was a hellhole too, but before you get bent out of shape, the world is becoming increasigly the same and you can can the same amenities or faults in all capital cities.
Finally, the verbatim restatement of quotes is kind of simple. You sound like Socrates hanging on to peoples everyword and ultimately proving nothing. |

the hell are you talking about?
<<...either one of those two cities which can't decide on urban sprawl or gentrification;>>
Though it is the largest city in the US, NY is quite compact. The main area of NYC is Manhattan. If you ever visit New York you will be pleasantly surprised by the excellent use of space. Almost the entire island of Manhattan is mixed zones--residential, commercial and business. There is very little industrial use of land in Manhattan itself. There is no comparison between NYC and other major US cities. It is clearly superior. It is possibly the only major US city which makes an intelligent use of space. IT is not sprawling.
<>which can't finish a construction project in under five years;
Trump just put up the largest residential buyilding in the world. I believe it went up (from groundbreaking to completion) in less than three years.
<>which can't fill a pot hole on it's major streets
Whatever. They're well travelled. Unlike your city's decrepid streets which are probably sprouting fauna from the unused, sun-dried cracks.
<> where you waste three hours of your day in traffic;
Again, NYC is extremely well planned. Even if you were to work at one extreme end of the city and live at the other you would not spend more than 1 hour travelling in each direction on public transportation. There is traffic because a lot of people want to be here.
I hope I've answered your questions.
