In Reply To: Good response. You might be in a position to answer a question that's been bugging me. After your experience at BLS, are you happy that you went to law school? I know, from experience, that law school is what you make of it and you can become a great lawyer (if you have the right attitude and aptitude) no matter where you went to law school. But you have to admit that the chips are severely stacked against you at a school like BLS. Don't take this as a cheap shot at BLS. I clerked for a judge following law school who had interns from the local fourth-tier law school. Some of these interns, in my point of view, had much more of what it takes to be a successful lawyer than many of my classmates at my Ivy law school. But, whereas every one of my classmates got the job of their choice, most of these interns struggled mightily to get low paying jobs in government or private practice, jobs that would have been there for the asking for the lowest ranked person in my class. This isn't fair, but it is reality. Learning the law, doing good things . . . , all worthy goals. But is it worth it when you're constantly struggling to pay high student loans and you're probably not making much more than you would have if you had not gone to law school? Your answer might be instructive to people contemplating the law as a profession. Thanks (and good luck in the job market).
Message: << After your experience at BLS, are you happy that you went to law school? >> I didn't go to BLS, but I did go to another law school and every single day I regret going to law school. Of course, maybe those who are glad they went to law school are too busy working at BIGLAW to be posting on the Vault.
