The problem is that law schools have no motivation for warning their students about the debt and its associated problems. Why would they want to scare away applicants?
Without any incentive to warn their students, law schools (especially shitty ones where the graduate's ability to pay the debt back is questionable) will not change their methods.
The only reason we had someone give us a talk about debt in orientation is because it is required by the Federal government.
