When "W" graduated from Yale, he was accepted to Harvard Business school, arguably the most "prestigious" business school in the country.
He was rejected from Texas Law school--a good law school, by any measures, but certainly not at the top of the selectivity/prestige scale.

Harvard's goal in selecting MBA students is the pick those students that have the best chance of being a "leader" in the future.
As President of the US, W is the "leader" of the "free world", the numero uno leader. Harvard got exactly what they wanted.
This illustrates an important difference between the mentality of law school v. b-school. Law school cares only about your grades, LSAT score, and other measures of your ability to handle law school work.
The b-schools, on the other hand, routinely reject applicants with stellar GMATs in favor of less bright applicants who bring better work experience and other factors to the table.
If you are a 22 year old college grade with grades and LSAT scores high enough to get into a top 14 law school (preferably top 6), then here is an opportunity to make $125K at BIGLAW when you are 25. Not a bad deal. A safe choice.
The b-school route is a big risk. They are harder to apply to and there is a chance they won't like your essays or work experience.
If you are 25 and have been accepted to a top 10 b-school, then for the love God man, go to b-school.
