In Reply To: Texas is a public school and is less susceptible to donations or family influence and must maintain objectivity more than private schools. They had defined cutoff scores that no one can get around. If "W" had applied to Texas MBA and Harvard Law, I think that he would have gotten denied at Texas and been "in" at Harvard.
Message: I had not looked at it that way, but your analysis is probably right on point. Which now begs the question...are the smartest people always admitted into ivy league schools or does a great deal depend on legacy?
