Like many other joint degrees, the value of a JD/MBA is largely dependent on the holder of the degree. I am currently doing a JD/MBA at Kellogg and Northwestern Law. I think the degree is useful in corporate law (because you know the finance issues better than some of your peers, and you will be able to bring in business when you are up for partner because your b-school classmates will be potential clients), and in investment banking. However, it is also useful in private equity (specifically Leveraged Buyout Shops) and bankrupcy workouts. It is also useful in real estate.
Your opportunities, however, do largely depend on where you go to school, and how you market yourself. |

How do you like the program? How competitive it is to get in? I will be applying for Fall 2002. Please, let me know.
Thanks.
