I am a 1L on the west coast and everyone told me to relax and take it easy. I found that advice odd, but followed it. In hindsight, I found getting out of town in a quiet place for a week or so helpful, with one caveat. I was told that my first semester did not count for anything, this is not exactly true. From you first SEMESTER grades there is a selection for summer jobs and a couple of programs they may or may not tell you about. Work hard and avoid all of the commercial outlines and commercial breif especially. I have seen many 'a classmate try to use the shortcuts and drop out. You need to learn how to analyse before those tools can be useful.
Good luck and work hard. |

Is the drop out rate quite high. I notice some schools post thier dropout rates on USNews and usually it stands at about 3% with some a bit higher
Has that been your experience?
