Columbia offers an Ivy education (and one legitimately as good as Harvard, Yale, and Stanford, and arguably better than NYU) while offering many opportunities not available in New Haven or Cambridge. The hiring partner at my NYC firm usually plucks about 60%, yes SIXTY PERCENT, of the entering class each year from Columbia. This is mainly due to connections made during law school and the ease by which Col. students can be hired for summer clerkships (don't have to move, etc.). Also, other opportunities abound such as Wall Street clinical programs that you won't find anywhere else besides NYU. Go with Columbia.
