In Reply To: Wasn't Georgetown once ranked much higher than 14? What is happening. Does anyone know?
Message: If memory serves, the highest US News ranking Georgetown has achieved was 10th, in the mid 1990s. (I am an alum.) It's reputation scores are usually pretty good. The schools weaknesses are in alumni giving percentage and "faculty resources"--i.e. salary adjusted for cost living. Because of the high cost of living in DC, GT would have to outpay the Dukes, UVAs and UTs to move back into the top 10. For what it's worth, I thought the education was excellent, but classes were too big and the competition too cutthroat. If you want to work on the east coast, go to GT, unless you think you can make law review at UT.
