In Reply To: 1. Check out Vault.com's table of the nation's 50 most prestigious law firms (though any list of reputable law firms will do, so long as you have a sufficient sample upon which to conduct the experiment). 2. Visit the web site of each firm. 3. Go to the "attorney bios" section of each web site. 4. See which law schools the associates and partners attended. You will find that they most frequently attended the following NY metro area schools (in order): 1. NYU 2. Columbia 3. Fordham 4. Brooklyn 5. Rutgers 6. Cardozo 7. New York Law 8. Seton Hall 9. Hofstra 10. St. John's I'm sure that size and alumni base had something to do with the frequency of school name, but I'm also an MBA and understand the value of "brand image", which is most effectively measured by the extent of reach (not necessarily an ambiguous "prestige" arbitrarily awarded by a 2nd rate rag of a magazine).
Message: Also, if you do a search on Martindale Hubble for grads of each school in the private sector in NYC, Brooklyn has the most, followed closely by Fordham, with Cardozo way behind. Brooklyn has over 3600 to Cardozo's 600. True, Brooklyn has been around much longer, but it is something to think about. (I didn't bother checking other NYC schools, YMMV.)
