Actually, understanding law and the course work produces high grades. Law tests look for "issue spotting." The exams provide outrageous fact patterns. The student is required to synthesyze the facts and ppick out the issues. Then discuss the various ways those issues can be resolved. Good luck. |

Issue spotting is very important on law school exams. However, what I learned is that to do well, you really have to pay attention to the professor's views on a particular subject. Unfortunately, although all professors say they don't care what the answer is but instead how you analyze the problem, one's inner-partisan takes over to a certain extent. Knowing the law cold is important. Applying the law the way the professor wants it applied is essential.
