I don't really agree with the proposition that visa is not a big deal. It's indeed a big deal when it comes to hiring decision. To sponsor your H-1 visa, your potential employer has to show that your particular expertise cannot be found in other candidates. You cannot be as good as other candidates - you've gotta be better than most of them. If you're sure you can get into at least top 10% of your law school class, then go for it. Perhaps you may want to go to those schools which have accepted you and check out their placement office and ask about the placement rate of non-U.S. citizen grads.
