In Reply To: I'm a foreign law school graduate witha J.D. degree, and I just got my LL.M. degree in the U.S. I'm eligible to sit for the bar in NY, but I'm not sure that I can make it now. I just started my job search for an entry level Paralegal position in NYC. Do I have a good chances to find a job, and what kind of law (corporate, litigation, probate, or real estate) will be the most beneficial for me if I'll decide to go to law schhol for my American J.D. degree in one year?? Thanks a lot.
Message: You should have no difficulty finding an entry level paralegal position in any of the toptier firms in NYC. I graduated from an ivy league school with a science degree and received offers from such firms. You are certainly more qualified than I was considering I had no legal experience whatsoever. Your foreign legal training will probably be a tremendous help. But make sure you don't stay a paralegal for too long because I've seen several others do so and regret it later. It's miserable work and you should only use it as a quick transition to being an attorney.
