I know everybody has their own style but i have 1 year to prepare and what is the best way to get a 170+ score on the LSAT? |

When I took the LSAT, triceratops roamed the earth and they still used the 800 scale. Since that time, though, I have helped a friend or two prep for more recent versions of the test. I just used the 30 dollar book or perhaps two of them. The people I have met with really high scores as a general rule did take a prep course. It's not rocket science, but a bit of drilling on standardized test score trickery is worth the effort. I'd say that any good commercial or extension course would be good, and if your town offers something like a UCLA extension course, definitely take that and save a little bit of money. On the whole,though, in a course, or with two or three of the various commercial LSAT preps,
you need to drill, drill, drill, as these questions do tend to fall into patterns, and practice really does help. If you are still in school, the little two hour logic course that is a building block soph course at many philosophy departments may be a help to you as well. Best of fortune, and I wish you 170+!
