In Reply To: I will be starting American University's law school this fall and I'm having some doubts.... With Georgetown and George Washington University in the same city, American is often overlooked. They are ranked by US News as a second tier school. Does anyone have some insight on job prospects coming from American. Should I shoot for transfering to Georgetown? George Washington? Does reputation matter that much, (I know grades are most important)? Thanks for any helpful advice...
Message: Based on my experience, the reputation of a law school means a lot because legal profession is the most conservative. The U.S. News rankings are good, but keep in ming that there's no exact rankings at all. Regarding the grades... it's very difficult question to answer. American University is ranked among top 10 law schools in the country with an international law concentration, which is a great advantage if you're planning to practice international law in D.C.
