i'm graduating this may from law school at the age of 42. i don't have a job yet. but i'm feeling pretty good about my accomplishment. My lifelong experience has taught me that everything works out -- for the best. I know exactly what I want out of life. that's half the battle. i know that i will find the right job for me because I know how to make things happen in my life. I started out wanting to work for a big firm. that's not what i want to do now. Now I want to do tech law. I also have an IT background. I can do that for a smaller firm, a tech company or a fortune 500 company. the key is to remain flexible.
yes, getting through law school was hard. i was a single parent and i worked full-time while going to school nights. (my son, now 18, is so proud of me!) My grades aren't that great but that's not going to stop me from making a good career for myself.
if you really want to go to law school, just do it! |

So I feel money is why we are all working not to hang JD's on the wall and expend $150K on law school and its associated interest payments.
