I am going to be attending Columbia Law School in the fall, and I am conteplating getting a JD/MBA. My application is still in with the B-School, but I was wondering on how law firms look upon a JD/MBA. I have heard rumors that firms look down upon JD/MBA's because they think that both degrees are watered down. I have also heard people say that firms are afraid to hire JD/MBA's because they are afraid the lawyer will jump ship to become GC at a company.
I am wanting to get into VC/tech. law in SV. I have a strong tech. background, and I can qualify to take the patent bar exam. I just don't want to get stuck doing patent applications all day. Any ideas?
