Look, I don't want any flames here. Just trying to help this guy out. I passed up a full ride at NYU and a partial at U.Chicago for Harvard. The name is worth a lot (deserved or not) and if you want to work in NY after graduation, your life will be a lot easier if you follow my advice. Between H/S, just go with whichever you like more, where you want to practice etc.
And in terms of this B/S about not taking on debt...10 yrs down the road you may want to switch jobs. You'll be debt free by then, and trust me, you'll find it a lot easier with a degree from H/S than from UM. (And to avoid this pissant insecurity that runs amuck on these boards, UM is a great school, but it's not as selective as H/S and that shit DOES matter in the real world). Your life though.
