Unless you have real trouble with standardized tests I recommend studying on your own. You will learn more from active studying than from learning passively in a classroom. I.e. Buy the PR, Kaplan and any other books you want, go through them yourself and take at least 10 old LSATs. I did this over a 10 week period and did very well at a fraction of the cost. |

I guess some classes could be passive but PR's are very interactive. They are anything but dull. I found prepping on my own to be a lot harder, because it's so easy to get distracted. I myself do need a bit more discipline for things I hate to do (like LSATs!), but find a class to be very helpful in that regard. PR's classes are small, so there are plenty of opportunities to be an active participant.
That said, depending on your study habits, either classes or self-study can prepare you well if you are diligent and really work at it. Whatever it takes to get you motivated (and to stay that way) is worth it in the end.
