In Reply To: Big law only takes the top of 2nd and maybe 3rd tier schools. By top, I mean number one or maybe the top 5. You are deluding yourself if you think that a student applying to big firms in Chicago, New York, DC or LA will not laugh at your resume if you come from a some second, all third and fourth tier school. You are all going to be real estate lawyers. Deal with it. You just wasted 3 years of your life. Have fun making 50 thousand a year!!!
Message: You're a 3L, name your firm and then take the time to look up their partners. You'll run into a lot more then 2 or 3 from 2nd-4th tiers. Obviously you haven't done your research about whatever market you're looking in. Firms routinely take from their local schools. After reading your posts, it seems pretty obvious that you're actually some undergrad not in law school or a snotty 1L. Anyone who's summered or interviewed at firms in a major city would know better. Next time, do your research before you troll to avoid revealing your glaring ignorance. Oh, by the way, if you've read my other posts I'm from Columbia and I've met more then my fair share of partners and associates from 2nd-4th tiers during interviews who I respect greatly.
