In Reply To: If Marcus did what he said he did, great for him. But you have to ask yourself what value his experience has for you. He didn't just defy conventional wisdom, he defied the odds. There are a ton of people from great undergrads- who aren't sitting in a top 5 law school right now even though they wanted to. Obviously, he had more on his application then just his numbers, "charisma," and his undergrad. That's the info you want to hear about. Of course, I've always been a proponent of shotgunning apps as much as you can afford to. Just don't rely too much on reported outliers and become depressed if your "charisma" doesn't carry you through. By the way, did I miss the charisma box on the application form? That or he turned in a El Woods video personal statement. Overall I find Marcus' post intriguing (and boastful), but of little value to a current applicant.
Message: i too was wondering how i missed the "charisma" box. as for "class", i can only assume that was implicit in his HIGHLY PRESTIGIOUS undergraduate institution.
