In Reply To: Is there a way you can explain the low GPA in your essay, without sounding like you're making excuses? I am not pre-judging or assuming it's because you partied throughout school...could be that you had a family crisis to deal with, whatever. But if there's a good explanation for it, and especially if there was an upward trend in the semester-by-semester GPA your last 3-4 semesters, that might reduce the impact of a 2.5 GPA.
Message: well, i didn't really party, i was just stupid and naive. didn't care about my grades. but my major GPA is a 3.91. I switched majors to math/stat and my last 3 semesters have been all A except one B+. I'm not sure I can make a good excuse on the personal statement. I'm hoping the difficulty of my major and the upward trend of my grades, and my lsat scores will get me in somewhere.
