I have a 2.5 gpa and would like to go to the best law school i can. I've taken practice lsat's and have gotten 170's. I think I can get higher than 175. What are my chances of getting to somewhere like Fordham Law? I am only thinking of new jersey and new york schools.
Please, any advice would help. |

Is there a way you can explain the low GPA in your essay, without sounding like you're making excuses? I am not pre-judging or assuming it's because you partied throughout school...could be that you had a family crisis to deal with, whatever. But if there's a good explanation for it, and especially if there was an upward trend in the semester-by-semester GPA your last 3-4 semesters, that might reduce the impact of a 2.5 GPA.
