My freshman year of college I made a website on our school's server and I accidently used a copyrighted picture. I was given a verbal warning. Now I am wondering if the law schools are just going to see that I had a violation, no matter how small, and throw my application in the trash? I plan to put a small little letter in my application explaining it was an accident and that this has actually made me consider doing IP law. What do you think? Any ideas?!?!?! Thanks alot |

This minor violation probably won't cost you much. In practice, when people get in trouble over stuff like this, it's when they fail to disclose it on an app, get into a dust up on something else, and then this comes up.
Just be sure any time you are asked about it, in law apps or bar apps, you appropriately disclose it.
It's not good news, of course, but if this is your worst crisis in life, you're probably bound for a fairly comfortable life :)
