In Reply To: This sounds awfully like justification for being at a non top 14 school. Apologies if that's not the case. The top 14 is, indeed, very real. The big firms interview at the top 14 (and UT occasionally) and some regional schools. That's it. Beyond those few school, your options become more regionally-defined.
Message: I've been in practice for years, and known non-top law school grads who are associates and partners at top law firms across the country throughout my career. My point was not tht school rank doesn't matter--my point was that outside the law message boards the notion of a strict "top 14" isn't the way the world works. I'm intrigued that anyone could draw a sweeping inference that this is "justification" for anything. But life is just too short to worry about folks who disagree with me--they're entitled to their opinion.
