I just wanted to get some feedback on my chances at either of the "Big 3."
I have a 3.5 cum gpa and a 165 on the LSAT.
I worked about 35 hours per week in undergrad.
Letters came from 2 professors and a partner at a major NY firm I worked at during undergrad.
African American Male with a ton of extracurriculas.
What are my chances? Realistically considering the surge in applicants and the low gpa. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Also, if my chances at one of the big three are good, does it make sense to apply to a program early decision to a school ranked slightly lower (i.e. Columbia or Chicago)?

Hi nirvana. Honestly I wouldnt bet on the "big 3" simply because of the incredible high volume of applications they receive to fill so few spots. I knew a student who was president of his club as an undergrad and had a cum gpa of 3.98 and was still turned down by Yale and Harvard...he did however get accepted to Stanford so I'm sure he didn't cry. There's no real harm in trying, but to be honest save your application fee on Yale...they don't even LOOK if you're under 4.0. Best wishes.
