You are just as bad as any other racist -- trying to seperate yourself from the rest of the African-Americans by claiming "EUROPEAN"? WHat reason is this? Ive never heard of an American saying "Im European American". My wifes mothers family is all Dutch and my dad-inlaws family is all german. You think they scribble "European American" in the OTHER box? If you want African-American to mean something different, then you need to check the box and represent it as you feel you should. But don't lie to yourself and dance around with your own heritage by labeling each blood droplet you could be mixed with just to find something that looks more appealing on a piece of paper. I suppose since my great grand dad is Irish with English and my moms side of the family is african and native american, I suppose I can just leave out the african and put "African-European" or how does "European-Native America" sound? Its a shame you can't be proud of where you are from. ir8pir8 U.S. Naval Sailor (vet.)
Message: I would not be ashamed at all to check "African American." I just think that it would be a little bit dishonest, since we both know that the *intent* of that box is black. I don't want to work the system unethically.
