I didn't even apply to any schools outside of NY, and I'm going to Fordham. I was pretty close to applying to Boalt and feel I had at least a pretty good chance of getting in, but when push comes to shove certain things in life are more important that achieving the absolute highest level of prestige possible. When you are in Law School you will still have a life and you deserve to have the life you want. I know for myself I would have been miserable anywhere besides NY. Fordham will offer many opportunities. Don't listen to the hype on this board that you will only succeed if you go to top 14, top 5, whatever the hell it is. It's a bunch of crap...YOU have to live your life, not these people who proclaim to have all the answers on these boards, and if you want to live on the East Coast, do it already!
Berkeley is for friggen hippies! NY is the place to be, and Fordham is an attractive choice...I refuse to believe I won't "make it" because Columbia and NYU rejected me. Please. I went to one of the best undergrads. in the country and I didn't see it open so many doors for me. So I'm not buying into this bullsh*t anymore...screw Top 10 if they don't want me...do what you feel is best FOR YOU given the options in front of you.
Sorry for the rant but all the crap on this board really gets to me...I'll be back in 10 years to show all the morons around here that YES one can go to a school not in the Top 10 and still be successful. |
