I'm not so sure why you think you need a "swift kick in the ass of realism." Northwestern's middle 50% of GPAs is about 3.3-3.7 and the middle 50% of LSATs is 162-167, according to USNWR (the new rankings are out tomorrow).
It seems to me you are probably a little better than avg in the GPA department and about avg in the LSAT department.
You're probably not one of the brightest applicants in the pool, but you should have a good shot.

I just realized how bad the last sentence of my previous post sounds. What I intended to convey is that your application is closer to average. I'm sorry for it sounding like I was saying you are not intelligent.
