OK here are my stats....
Undergrad - 3.0 U of Utah
Grad - MBA 4.0 Small Private College
LSAT - Taking Oct test, but expect to score in the 95+ precentile (I did on the GMAT 720)
I also have several years work experience (finance and analysis)
When I get done I want to work in securities or corporate law probably and know that my chances for BIGLAW would be greatly improved with a top 6 school. Would I even have a chance for a top 6 school?
If not top six I could go to Utah, the are 40ish but seem to have relativly low salaries for starting out. Does anybody have experience with or insight into Utah's program? |

Your undergrad GPA isn't stellar, but the MBA one is great and should help. The top 6 are really big on LSAT scores, so be sure to ace it.
How are preparing for it? The LSAT's quite a bit different from the GMAT, and if you don't score 165+ you might not be competitive at the top schools. You also wouldn't have time to retake it before the deadlines.
Your best bet would probably be to take a prep course if you aren't already. I've seen too many posts where people prep on their own, don't do as well as they'd like, and then take a course and do better. Those who took a course before the first attempt usually seem to be happier with their scores.
Take a peek at The Princeton Review - excellent LSAT prep, great instructors and materials, can't go wrong. Also get 10 Real LSATs if you haven't already.
