im not joking at all. its a desperate measure, but it cant hurt you too much.
in terms of Anon's post, i dont think I was implying that Hastings would get you the academia or S.Ct. clerkship positions--I was referring to going to a top 3/6/14 school in general.
In terms of Hastings v. Boalt, you don't lose that much in terms of BIGLAW. most places who hire at 1 hire at the other as well. Academia wise, Boalt tends to produce Boalt profs--you'd fare better shooting for Yale/Harvard to become an academic. And for the big S.Ct. clerkship, its tough even coming out of Boalt--again, Yale/Harvard/Chicago would be more ideal.
which brings me to this question: why is Boalt your ideal school? |

I love berkeley (I live in the Bay area), its an excellent school with out the ivy league price tag that Stanford, for example, requires. I guess, because I got in as an undergrad (deferred) and made the mistake of not taking that opportunity and this is some way of changing the past? Anyways, I can't retake the LSAT again because I already taken it twice. However, I've been thinking about taking some classes anyways. But, I don't know how much of a difference it will make. They would need my final grades from next spring, which would delay the decision next year and wouldn't necessarily be advantageous in my situation. On the other hand, I'm 25 now and will be 28 by the time I graduate law school if I went this year. I guess I don't want to put it off any longer you know. I am interested in Tax Law or Criminal Law. USD has a great criminal law program and Hastings has a superb Tax Law program. I just don't want to be in a situation where I'm working my ass off in Hastings to be passed up by someone in Boalt who barely studied just because of the name.
