In Reply To: i applied to ucla (my first choice) in early january. i graduated from ucla with a 3.5 (167). i should technically still be a california resident, but i moved to connecticut so my fiance could attend art school at yale so they might be considering me as an out of state resident (who knows). i got my waitlist letter on may 3. i have no idea what my chances are of getting off the waitlist. at this point, i'm consider university of washington and usc. any advice? comments? my fiance is from seattle but he'd rather move to l.a., but we might be too poor to make the move back (we could mooch off his parents for a bit in seattle). sorry for being so longwinded...
Message: Its a great school - amazing alumni networking in L.A. Why would you want to be in Seattle over Los Angeles. Its an easy choice. You could live relatively cheaply in Silverlake or Miracle Mile (near Hollywood) nice, hip neighborhoods - not far (Freeway-wise) from USC. Besides - forget the "too poor" part, the loans will take care of that (loans which will be easily paid for when you graduate).
