In Reply To: Lots of people approach paralegalling as you did, and a good number of them reach the conclusion you did. Stay at your job long enough to keep it a positive resume item. I could reel off a half dozen jobs that paralegal training might help you with, but I really think that you should go back to "square one" and decide what you really want to be. The fear that you might lose the extraordinary advantage of a 1 year or 2 year paralegal resume itme is not a good reason to do things you don't want to do.
Message: gurdonark, thanks for the response. though i'm pretty sure that i will never be a lawyer, at least i know that i've gained good working experience in a big NYC law firm. i've developed strong work habits and been able to work with very smart, motivated people. those are the things that i can take with me in the future. thanks for the tip. i see that the legal "world" probably isn't worth staying in if i don't like being a paralegal. it stinks to have to start over, but such is life......
